Which ceremony
Symbolic vs Civil Weddings?
A civil ceremony is a legal wedding — the marriage is officially recognised by the government and you can register it in your own country. A symbolic ceremony is not a legally recognised marriage; it is a commitment service. Neither is better than the other. They are different, and they require different planning.
For a legal ceremony, whatever country you come from, you have to gather a stack of papers that need apostille stamps, then have them translated into Greek by an authorised source before they reach us. That first part — before the papers get into our hands — typically costs you €500 to €1,000 depending on where you are from.
After you are legally married here, it takes about a month before we can send you the Greek marriage certificate, which then needs translating back into English at your cost. So although you are married on the day, it is another month before you can register it at home, because the Town Hall registry is genuinely busy.
If you would rather avoid the expense and the bureaucracy, a symbolic wedding is identical in terms of the ceremony itself. You miss nothing, and you keep the money you would have spent on paperwork. Your guests will never know the difference, and what you choose stays between you and your planner.

- Packages are designed and priced for up to 10 people (the couple and up to 8 guests). The final price with more guests depends on the guest count and the services chosen.
- Venue rental is not included — every wedding venue on Santorini is private property with its own rental fee.

Questions and Answers
What is the best time of day to hold a wedding in Santorini?
We usually advise our couples to book their wedding one hour before sunset, so they can enjoy a beautiful sunset photo shoot after the ceremony. Sometimes this depends on the availability of the venue and the available time slots of the registrar. We also recommend not holding the ceremony in the middle of the day, as the weather in Santorini during June, July and August can be very hot.
Do you organise vow renewals in Santorini?
Yes. You can see our vow renewal packages, and please contact us for further information — we will be more than happy to help.
For a vow renewal no documents are needed, so the process is easier: we just need a copy of your passports. The ceremony is the same as a civil ceremony, but you will not receive an official marriage certificate.
When is the best time to book my wedding?
Santorini is a very popular wedding destination and the available days go fast, so it is better to book your wedding day as soon as possible in order to reserve the date and the venue you prefer.
Can we choose any venue we want?
Yes, of course — you can choose any venue that is best for you and fits your budget. The wedding venues are private properties and they have different rental fees.
