How it works
The photoshoot is the disguise. It works every time.
A great and genuinely effective strategy for a proposal here is the photoshoot concept on the caldera. Because so many couples from all over the world book a photoshoot as an activity while in Santorini, it lets us disguise the actual plan — even if your partner might otherwise be suspicious. Sometimes we coordinate with your hotel to say that you won the photoshoot, in case you are not the kind of couple who would book one.
The plan. Once you have booked the date and time with us, you tell your loved one you have made a surprise booking. That makes sure you will both be dressed for it. On the day, the driver waits for you at your hotel and takes you to meet your photographer.
Meeting the photographer. At the first location the photographer greets you as though this is a casual couple shoot, and makes you feel comfortable enough to enjoy it. Casual pictures are taken on the caldera side with the blue domes of Imerovigli, reached on foot because the popular paths are walking-only. Then you head to the car for the second and final location.
The second location. This is the moment. For the proposal itself we suggest a place that is peaceful and full of natural beauty — well known but hard to reach, so we can hope for somewhere quieter for the actual question.
Your photographer arrives first, then your car. Because this spot is away from the hotels, we can be much freer with decoration and personalisation. One of our team can hand you a blindfold so you can lead your partner to the spot without them knowing what is happening — which also gives us time to make sure everything is ready. Many couples add flowers, candles, fountain fireworks, even music.
Our photographer positions themselves out of sight and captures the proposal from their own angle. After they say yes, our team brings the champagne and glasses. Afterwards the photographer takes you around the island to capture some engagement highlights. We are always flexible and happy to change the whole thing around your idea of the ideal proposal.
